Partial Dentures

Partial dentures can be designed to replace one or more teeth on the same arch. They are completely removable and work by clipping onto the nearby teeth.

Full Dentures

Traditional full dentures are used to replace an entire arch of teeth, and they rest on top of the gums. Patients may also choose to stabilize them using denture adhesive.

Implant-Supported Dentures

Implant-supported dentures attach to a few dental implants that are placed throughout the arch. They are known for feeling very stable and similar to natural teeth.

The Custom Denture Process

Our team is here to guide you through the process of getting custom dentures, and we can provide assistance and clarification every step of the way.

  • Step 1

If you are interested in replacing one or more teeth with custom dentures, a consultation will need to be scheduled with our team to begin creating your treatment plan.

  • Step 2

If any teeth need to be removed, we will get that procedure scheduled. We will also take measurements of your teeth and gums to create your custom-fit dentures.

  • Step 3

Once we receive your dentures from the lab, we will have you try them on to ensure that they fit well and make any last adjustments necessary.

Frequently Asked Questions
  • How do you take care of dentures?

While dentures are made to look as similar to a patient’s natural teeth as possible, dentures require special care that is different from taking care of natural teeth. Dentures need to be removed from the mouth and brushed with a soft-bristle toothbrush and denture cleaner at least once per day. Patients should also soak their dentures in denture solution overnight to kill bacteria, give their gums a break, and keep them moist so they maintain their custom shape. All dentures must be removed daily so they stay in great shape, including implant-supported dentures.

  • What are the benefits of custom dentures?

While one-size dentures exist, our team at Westgate Family Dental strongly recommends that patients invest in a set of custom dentures. Custom dentures can be made to look far more similar to natural teeth, and they do not have an obvious artificial appearance like one-size-fits-all dentures sometimes do. When dentures are custom made, they can also be designed to fit the unique contours of a patient’s gums, making them more comfortable to wear.

  • Are dentures affordable?
p>At Westgate Family Dental, we always work with patients to provide them with high-quality dental care that will fit well with their unique budgets. Many insurance plans offer full or partial coverage for custom dentures, and our office would be happy to help you maximize your benefits as much as possible. We also accept third-party payment plans through CareCredit™ and GreenSky, which can help break up the cost of your restorative care into manageable monthly payments.
